Skip Hire FAQS
Our Domestic Skip Hire service is available for same day delivery (if booked before 10am and dependant on availability) and ranges from Mini Skips that hold 20-30 black bags of waste, to 8 cubic yard drop down door skips that hold 70-80 black bags of waste.
Our Commercial Skip Hire service covers the above sizes, and in addition we also offer 12-yard skips and 2 sizes of Roll On Roll Off (RORO) skips for up to 400 black bags of waste.

The skip can be placed on Private or Public Land.
Private land is an area which you own, for example a garden or driveway. Public land is land not owned by you, for example a roadside, kerb or any other public authority land. A permit from the council is required for all public land sites, and this can be obtained during the order process, and will incur a fee from the local council.
We also offer a Wait While Loading service, where your skip driver will wait for 30 minutes whilst the waste is loaded. This again can be selected on the booking form.

No, you do not need to be present when we deliver you skip. You can add notes for the driver onto the booking form before checkout to advise of the placement of the skip.
We will always endeavour to deliver the skip on the day you select, however, sometimes delays can occur. We deliver skips between the hours of 07:00 and 17:00 and our standard hire period is 10 days.
We accept domestic waste such as packaging, furniture, furnishings, fixtures and fittings, paper, wood, metal and plastic.
You can also add bricks, rubble, soil and stone.
Yes, there are some restricted items that we CANNOT ACCEPT. These are ASBESTOS, BATTERIES, PAINTS & SOLVENTS, PRESSURISED CONTAINERS, GAS BOTTLES, ANY LIQUIDS, CLINICAL WASTE, ANIMAL WASTE, FLOURESCENT TUBES AND PLASTERBOARD.
We CAN ACCEPT MATTRESSES, TYRES, FRIDGES & FREEZERS, UPHOLSTERED SOFAS & CHAIRS, AND TV’S, DISHWASHERS, WASHING MACHINES AND TUMBLE DRYERS for a ADDITIONAL FEE. These can be added individually on the booking form.
***IF THESE ADDITIONAL ITEMS ARE ADDED AND NOT PAID FOR, WE RESERVE THE RIGHT TO REFUSE COLLECTION UNTIL THESE ITEMS ARE PAID FOR OR REMOVED FROM THE SKIP.***
The skip should be filled no higher than the height of the sides and should be level loaded in order for us to be able to transport the skip safely.
As our standard hire is 10 days, we will collect the skip 10 days after delivery. If the skip is ready to be collected earlier, or you need to exchange for another skip, please email skiphire@willshees.co.uk or call 01283 702340.
Yes, Willshees is a fully insured and licensed Waste Carrier. You can view and download our insurance certificates and licences by clicking this link.
We accept all major credit and debit cards, bank transfer payments and cash payments.
Grab Hire Instant Quote
We also offer a Grab Hire Service, which is perfect for when you have a large amount of waste that you want removed quickly and in a cost-efficient way, or you need to transport materials to different locations. This service is also useful for collecting waste in hard-to-reach areas.
Compared with standard skips, grab hire lorries can carry a much higher volume of waste. Willshee’s operate 8-wheel grab lorries capable of carrying 16 tonnes once fully loaded. Our grab lorries have a 7-metre reach enabling us to provide a quick and easy waste removal solution. Our experienced drivers are fully trained and certified to operate our grabs and are highly skilled to collect your waste or deliver recycled material in a safe and responsible manner.
